Terms and Conditions

Colour Problems

Every effort has been made to ensure that the colours displayed on the website, is as true as possible to the genuine product. Unfortunately, different devices will show the colours differently. Yarn in a Barn will not accept responsibility for incorrect colours chosen. Products will only be exchanged due to colour problems, on the following conditions:

  • The purchase has been made in the last 14 days;
  • The yarn has not been used at all;
  • The yarn is still in the original packaging;
  • The required yarn is in stock; and
  • Any shipping costs to and from Yarn in a Barn, is for the buyer’s account.

Back Orders

Back orders are allowed on standard items. Any product not currently in stock, can still be ordered online. You will be notified of any back orders.

For South African orders: Items immediately available will be shipped to you immediately. Back order items will be shipped as soon as they are available. The cost of the second shipment will be paid by Yarn in a Barn.

International orders will be held back until the complete order can be sent.

Refunds

  • No event, whether online training or a physical event hosted by Yarn in a Barn, will be refunded.
  • Any good returned to Yarn in a Barn will be subject to an inspection thereof. If any damage has been done to the products, it will not be accepted. Yarn in a Barn reserves the full right to decide whether a refund will be done or not.
  • The buyer is responsible for shipping costs of refund and replacement goods. Yarn in a Barn accepts no responsibility should any of these disappear in shipping.
  • If a refund is approved by Yarn in a Barn, the credit will be given in the form of a discount coupon that can be used in the online shop at any time. No cash refunds will be made.

Delivery and Dispatch

  • Our normal turn-around time is three working days; if there are products on backorder, it might take longer.
  • You will receive email notifications on the status of your order as it moves through the system.

Delivery and Dispatch of Orders placed in South Africa

Collection
  • No charge.
  • The buyer will collect the goods from Yarn in a Barn. It will not be delivered anywhere.
  • Goods have to be collected within 7 days of purchase, unless otherwise arranged.
  • A buyer can arrange his/her own courier to collect the goods from Yarn in a Barn, with a prior arrangement.
Postnet
  • A flat-rate of R100 will be charged for Postnet to Postnet shipping.
  • If the parcel weighs more than 5kg, an additional payment will be requested from the buyer via email.
  • No parcel will be sent out unless the shipping has been paid in full.
  • The onus is on the buyer to ensure the correct Postnet branch is used.
  • The buyer should add a note to the order specifying which Postnet branch is preferred.
  • You will receive email notifications on the status of your order as it moves through the system.
  • Postnet parcels are shipped once a week, on Friday afternoons.
South African Postal Services
  • If the buyer decides to use the South African Postal Services, he/she does so at his/her own risk.
  • Should the parcel be lost, no refund will be done and no replacement parcel will be sent.
  • The cost of the shipping will be determined by the official South African Postal Services plugin.
  • A handling fee of R25 will be added.
  • You will receive email notifications on the status of your order as it moves through the system.
  • Postal Services parcels are shipped once a week, on Friday afternoons.
The Courier Guy
  • Courier services are recommended for customers in the Pretoria / Jhb / Vaal Triangle area, or customers on the main routes.
  • An initial flat-rate of R100 will be changed for courier delivery.
  • Should the courier costs exceed this amount by more than 20%, an additional courier payment will be requested from the buyer via email.
  • No parcel will be sent out unless the courier costs have been paid in full.
  • Our normal turn-around time is three working days; if there are products on backorder, it might take longer.
  • You will receive email notifications on the status of your order as it moves through the system.

Delivery and Dispatch of International Orders

South African Postal Services
  • The buyer can choose between air mail, and surface mail.
  • Surface mail is sent sea-freight; this could take several weeks (minimum 12 weeks).
  • The cost of the shipping, both air mail and surface mail, will be determined by the official South African Postal Services plugin.
  • A handling fee of R250 will be added.
  • You will receive email notifications on the status of your order as it moves through the system.
  • All international airmail parcels will be sent via EMS.
  • Should the parcel be lost, no refund will be done and no replacement parcel will be sent.
  • You will receive email notifications on the status of your order as it moves through the system.

Special Orders

  • Any special orders, for items not in stock, must be paid in full before the items will be ordered from the suppliers.

Privacy & Security

  • All your personal details are encrypted and can only be accessed by us.
  • No information concerning your credit or debit card is stored.
  • We will protect your privacy and not disclose any of your information to any third party.
